I can't tell you enough how I love seeing kids learning about electronics while they think that they are just having fun. It must be because that's exactly how I got started when I was a kid and it's an experience that I have carried with me throughout my career in electronic and software engineering.

I wanted to give you a taste of what it will be like when you give your children one of these kits so I did what I always do when I want to find out things. I went to YouTube and I've embedded some of what I found on this page.

There are several electronics construction kits available with different types of experiments, number of experiments and for different size of pockets but perhaps the one that stands out to me as being the best value for money and sheer volume of experiments that you and your kids can build is the Snap Circuits Extreme SC-750
